Restaurant Marketing Plan

Behind every successful restaurant is an equally successful restaurant marketing plan.

Many owners may not believe that they need a marketing plan but doing a little research would reveal the statistical benefits. A good marketing plan should cover the four P’s which are often taught in business and marketing classes. Product, price, place and promotion are the four key elements that must be clearly and concisely outlined.

When detailing your restaurant marketing plan with the four P’s, it’s important to stay aware of all the facts. You need to know what is going on in your chosen market in terms of economy and competition. Staying in the dark and ignoring what competitors are doing is a big mistake. They have a direct impact on your business because you are all battling for the same customers.

Sometimes different business seasons call for different levels of marketing. For example, a restaurant specializing in home cooked meals like turkey dinner with all the fixings will want to spend their marketing dollars over the holidays.

Knowing your target market and busiest time of year will help to allocate necessary marketing funds.

Advertising ideas for your restaurant marketing plan can vary. Ads in the Yellow Pages are a great way to draw plenty of eyes to your restaurant. If you’re willing to pay a little extra you can even get your menu placed in the ad. Local television ads are another great way to get in touch with your local community. Letting potential customers know you exist will generate higher clientele numbers. Whatever restaurant marketing plan methods you choose for your business will be better than no plan at all.

Unfortunately, there aren't any college courses on "How To Start A Profitable Restaurant". (And if there are, they are probably taught by someone who's never owned a restaurant!) The statistics don't lie. Most restaurants DON'T stay open a year! I got extremely frustrated seeing unsuspecting new owners lose their dreams (and their shirts). Sometimes it's just a lack of good information that causes their businesses to fail and a great amount of personal heart break!

I have written a special email report in hopes that it might stop the growing statistics of new restaurant failure. So, before you spend your hard earned money acquiring and opening your restaurant, I urge you to read my FREE report "The Restaurant Industry's Dirty Little Secrets. There are a lot of successful restauranteurs. There is a HUGE number of well meaning, hard working rookie restaurant owners who simply aren't aware of the "insider secrets" to creating a profitable restaurant. One particular event caused me to sit down and write out this information. To read more about the event click here

Before opening to the public make sure you test your restaurant with ALL the equipment running.

It is not uncommon for there to be electrical issues when all the equipment is running. Your Grand Opening is a terrible time to find out that you can't have the meat slicer going at the same time as the toaster! If you have made changes to your kitchen, try testing the electrical capacity of the renovated space.
